In the winter months, Northern Finland is transformed into a winter wonderland complete with peaceful snow-covered forests, vast frozen lakes and the Aurora borealis dancing overhead. This five-day guided adventure allows you to experience the best of it: try Finland’s favorite winter sports, learn about culture and traditions, taste local foods and enjoy the beautiful scenery.

Program

Dec 9: Night train from Tampere to Rovaniemi 

Dec 10: Arrival in Rovaniemi, city sightseeing walk, visit to Santa Claus Village and introduction to Finnish sauna

Dec 11: Husky Safari, Nordic walking and visit to Arktikum Museum

Dec 12: Snowshoe tour, camp lunch, visit to a reindeer farm and farewell dinner

Dec 13: Transfer to Rovaniemi Airport

Accommodations

Accommodations the first night are in a sleeping cabin of a long distance train from Tampere to Rovaniemi. Two people will share a cabin with bunk beds and shared toilets.

The following three nights will be spend in twin rooms in a standard hotel in downtown Rovaniemi and will include a large breakfast buffet, free Wi-fi and access to the sauna.


Booking information

This tour is limited to 10 people, available on a first-come-first-serve basis. 

How to join:

  1. Complete the booking form.
  2. We will send you an invoice for 30% of the total cost, due within one week. Your reservation will be confirmed upon receipt of payment.
  3. You will receive a final invoice for the remaining 70% which will be due 9 October 2018.

Winter Gear Rental

Personal winter gear rental package: €50

Some adventurers prefer not to buy personal outdoor winter clothing. If you are travelling light or just prefer not to add to your closet, we are happy to offer a winter gear rental package that will help keep you warm in arctic conditions.

Preliminary booking is required to ensure appropriate sizes are available. The winter gear package includes:

  • Thermal underlayer (trousers and shirt)
  • Woolen socks
  • Fleece or heavy sweater
  • Winter jacket
  • Winter trousers
  • Winter boots
  • Small hat + big hat for extra cold weather
  • Gloves + mittens
  • Buff
